Going To The Chapel And We’re Gonna Get Maa-aaried

So My coworker and friend Jim married his lovely girlfriend of many years, Heather today. These two are two of the nicest people I know. Flat out. So the two of them paired up is pure magic. Jim himself is magic dubbed so by the queen of magic, so ya know it’s bound to be sparkly.

Anyway.

The magic was out in Timbuktu (thank you Firefox spell checker because that was originally timbucktwo). For the entire 5 hours we were up there my cell phone had no bars. No calls. No texts. No twittering. I thought I was going to die.

The ceremony itself was beautiful. I cried. Like a baby. It started when Jim walked down the aisle. It stopped about an hour ago. Ok, not really. The hour ago part. I really did cry. Apparently I’m that woman who cries at weddings. I’m just very in touch with my emotions.

I of course took all my camera gear with me. And I do mean all of it. Huge bag and all. Though it was big enough to double as my purse. I left it out in the car during the ceremony but it came out to play during the reception. I took so many pictures too. I won’t be posting most of them because they are of individuals and I don’t have their permission. I might post the pics of the cake though. I’ll let y’all know if I do. They did have an official photographer but we were all allowed to bring cameras. I mean Jim is a photographer. He works in a camera store. Coworkers were invited. His friends are photographers. There were going to be cameras at the wedding.

I don’t have any real major things to say about the reception. It was nice, simple and fun. Kate, one of my best friends and former coworker, caught the bouquet. Andy,. a current coworker, caught the garter. There were awkward jokes about them being next. All the _____ camera crew and spouses sat together.

Speaking of spouses, Pat was unable to attend. He was planning to. He even kinda wanted to. But the van lost and important belt on the way to picking me up Thursday. And while it’s a basic fix, only costing 300 which isn’t bad considering how important the belt is and everything that got replaced, the van was out of commission until this afternoon. So Pat stayed home to pick up the van when it was ready. I got a ride with Kate and Kate’s mom. Pat wasn’t willing to be at someone else’s mercy if he needed to leave, so that’s another reason he stayed home. I was disappointed but I understand.

Hmmmm, I think that’s pretty much everything.

Oh, take a peek at the Luke’s blog. I’m going to update it next.

Dentist

I went to the dentist today. And let’s start by saying I’m going back to them. Which is like 10 kinds of wow and amazing.

The big news it my lower right molar. Yes I have 3 down there. It’s the one in the front.

For years I’ve had dentist wanting to root canal or pull it. The doctors who want to root canal openly admit it’ll probably have to be pulled eventually anyway. And I’m fine with this. It doesn’t bother me one bit. The problem is it’s been almost a decade since I’ve found a dentist I’ve been willing to return to, much less let them go in and do something major.

This dentist gave me 2 choices. Go to Newark and get a root canal or get it pulled in their office. I considered both but Newark is really far away, or at least far enough that I’m not driving our 14 mpg van there just to find out the tooth needs pulled anyway.

So next Monday, the 8th, I’m getting my tooth pulled and a filling in the 3rd molar on the lower right.

Technically both need pulled because the 3rd is a wisdom and my wisdoms need pulled. But he didn’t want to leave me with just one molar down there. I’m thankful.

I’m just glad to have a dentist I like.

This ‘N’ That

This is old news to those of you who follow my twitter feed, but I actually watched a hockey game today. This is news because I can’t stand sports. The only possible exception is curling. I don’t know why, but I love curling. I think I’ve mentioned this. Anyway I watched the BIG hockey game of the Olympics; USA versus Canada. And I have to say, while I was rooting for USA on principle I was really proud of Canada for winning. I think they needed it more. And well, hockey is kinda their game. Either way, win or lose, it was a great game to watch. Both teams did an amazing job. And I’m really proud of myself for watching it.

I’m stupid excited about this shirt I ordered. It should be here on Tuesday. There is one jsut like it that say’s “I’m blogging this” that I’m getting next.

Thomas has a dentist appointment in the morning. I already know he has at least one cavity. I know this because the old dentist told us so. But we have a lot of bad luck with dentists. Many first appointments but refusals to go back for various reasons. As a result we are all in bad need of teeth cleanings. My appointment is Tuesday. Let’s hope this one is a keeper because he is close and hassle free. Well both of them. Thomans is going to a children’s dentist. I’m, obviously, going to a different one. But both are within 5 minutews from where we live. Which with our history is good news.

Gah I need sleep. I might check out the end of the closing ceremony. Only with my luck it’s over. I tried to watch it earlier but I got bored.

Night.
