This ‘N’ That The Med Edition

I didn’t sleep last night. At all. I went to bed at my usual time. I took a Lunesta as usual. And then I snuggled into my covers and started daydreaming. Next thing I knew it was 2am and I was wide awake. So I turned on the tv to try to settle my mind some. The problem with all this is that I knew I had to be out of bed at 7am and if I didn’t sleep right then, I’d never get up. So it got to the point where it was easier to just stay up all night. So I did.

I had to be up at 7am to get Thomas to the doctor by 8:30. He had his yearly well check today. Nothing major to report. He is in the 60th percentile for his height and 55th for his weight. So he is slightly taller than his average peer of the same age, but he is very proportionate weight to height. Which I could have told you. The kid has no meat on his bones.

While we were there, both kids got a flu shot. Only this year it’s also paired with the h1n1 vaccine. 1 shot, both vaccines. Only they have it in mist form where they basically squirt it up the nose and that’s it. No needle. The kids were relieved. Pat and I, however, weren’t as lucky. We both got an actual flu shot from the local pharmacy a little later in the morning.

My stomach is acting up this morning. It’s very acidic and I’m releasing pure acid from various orifices. I know, TMI. But hey you should be used to that from me. I’m trying to eat as much bread as I can. It’ soaks up the acid. Same idea as bread soaking up the booze during a night of drinking. At least I think that’s how it’s supposed to work. I might be wrong. I know that’s how it works for the acid in my belly.

Anyway, that’s my morning in a nutshell. I have a meds appointment next so hopefully, I’ll be able to report back with a Living Life Post. Might be tomorrow though.

Speaking of which, I have a great idea for a post but I need the help of a Psychiatrist who is willing to play 20 questions through email. Anyone out there? I guess a therapist would work too. Actually, I know a therapist would work. I might just use my therapist. We’ll see. If anyone who is reading this is qualified, shoot me an email. Don’t be shy.

On that note, I’m out.

  1. I suggest trying to get a hold of Dr Robert Bartha; he's a psych professor from CSCC. He or Carolyn Kaufman, also CSCC prof; one of them is very likely to help. btoh psychologists, but have also practiced clinically
