Isn’t something to take lightly. It effects your ability to handle life, relationships, and your ability to function. You are ruled by impulses, black and white thinking, and a roller coaster of up and down emotions. Not unlike bipolar you can be happy one minute and like the flick of a switch, miserable the next.
They call it Borderline personality disorder because it borders on every other personality disorder out there. You can be a little bit of some or all of them, but not enough to get diagnosed as that. So you are borderline. For a long time people thought I might be bi-polar but it never fully fit. My swings were too frequent and my manics not manic enough. But I was on the border.
It’s a very confusing lonely world.
I just feel this drive to tell the world what it’s like and to reach out to others who have it. Tell them that they aren’t alone anymore. I know it’s something I need to hear.
This blog is just as much for me as it is for them, and just as much for them as it is for me.
Please, if you know anyone out there who you think or know might have BPD, please point this blog out to them. It might not help, but it can’t hurt. Maybe together we can walk the borderline.

I am also 26 and have been diagnosed with BPD last year. I just discovered your blog and whether or not it sounds cheesy, it means so much to know that I'm not alone… and neither are you. I just wish we would have more English-speaking professionals with good knowledge of DBT who could treat patients like me. It's not so easy to get help when you aren't fluent in the language of the country you live in as a foreigner. I look forward to discovering your blog.
